TEHRAN –The Iranian Ambassador to Italy has reaffirmed the commitment of the Islamic Republic of Iran to maintaining stability and security in the region while working to prevent rising tensions.

In a discussion with Casa del Sole channel on Monday, Mohammad Reza Sabouri stated that while Tehran maintains the right to respond to the aggressive actions of the Israeli regime, it will not be drawn into the provocations intended to escalate conflict in the area.

Sabouri highlighted, “As articulated by Iran's political and military leadership, Iran’s reaction to any further Israeli aggression will be decisive, measured, and timely.”

The Iranian ambassador also criticized the lack of response from Western nations regarding the Israeli assaults in Gaza and Lebanon.

“If they profess to support human rights, why do they permit this regime to persist in its genocide and the killing of children, along with its intentional and targeted strikes on civilian infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, and international facilities?” Sabouri questioned.

Sabouri pointed out that the West has not only failed to reconsider its policy of silence and complicity in the face of Israeli actions in Gaza but has also expressed support for the regime's latest wave of aggression against Lebanon. 

====‘Iran missile attack on Israel came after Zionist atrocities and aggression’

Iran's ambassador to Venezuela announced that his nation conducted a missile operation against Israel as a reaction to the Zionist regime's aggression.

Hojjat Soltani made these remarks during a weekly live broadcast with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Monday, which also featured the ambassadors of Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, and was aired on national television in Venezuela.

Soltani stated, “The missile strike on Israel, which occurred on October 1, was a direct response to the cries of innocent Palestinian children who have been martyred by Israel.”

The ambassador elaborated that Iran had postponed its retaliation for nearly two months following Israel's assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, hoping to facilitate discussions for a ceasefire in Gaza.

“However, with no ceasefire achieved and Israel escalating its attacks, including the assassination of Hezbollah leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and his associates who supported Palestine,” Soltani pointed out. 

The Iranian diplomat underscored that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had also issued threats against Iran after Operation True Promise II and Iran will firmly defend its Islamic values until the liberation of Quds.

Soltani emphasized, “Iran's response to Israeli aggression came after the UN Security Council failed to condemn or impose sanctions on Israel for the assassination of Haniyeh on Iranian territory.”
 
Additionally, Soltani criticized mainstream media for framing Iran's actions as an attack on Israel, asserting that these outlets are influenced by Zionist interests, and clarified that Zionism is distinct from Judaism, arguing that it promotes racism and misuses Judaism to rationalize its actions.
